Tournament day 1

First of all, I am so far behind on the blog obviously!  But I have to start somewhere, so I'm going to try and work my way backwards to December.

Emma had a softball game at 7:15 tonight.  It's the first day of an all-weekend tournament!  She has 2 games tomorrow, and depending on how all of the teams do it will affect games on Sunday.

We went to a new location at a community college campus - the idea was to play under the lights.  It had beautiful walking trails and playgrounds, which meant I was chasing Jonathan most of the time instead of getting to sit and watch the game!

Emma played first base, because the normal 1B was playing catcher since our starting catcher was starring in a school play!

There wasn't much defense as our star pitcher was getting a lot of strike outs.  Fast forward to the 4th inning, and Emma came in to pitch.  She didn't have a lot of notice, but she did great!  She struck out two, gave up a walk (and that player scored), and the third out was a caught pop fly.  Since we were ahead 12-2, the ump called it for the mercy rule and the game was over!  It only lasted 1 hour so it wasn't even dark enough to play under the lights yet!  We were all okay with that though, because that meant we got home at a decent time to rest, wash the uniforms and do it again tomorrow!

I got a video of Emma scoring from third base by stealing home!

Pioneer school

Today was the big fourth grade field trip to pioneer school!  It's something that the kids have been looking forward to.  They have been studying the Oregon trail, and they have small groups in their classroom of their own wagon train.  Emma is the leader of her wagon!

Thankfully a friend's mom was chaperoning so I got a couple of pictures of Emma, and another mom posted a couple of Newell Pioneer Village.

Emma loved it.  She brought home a wool bracelet, a wooden string toy, and the candle they made!

Scootering

Jonathan always tries to climb on Emma's scooter, but there's nothing on it for him to balance.

Instead, Emma sat him down and gave him a ride around the house tonight!

New bed!

Emma had been wanting to get rid of her bunkbeds for awhile now, because she felt like she would soon outgrow the twin length and she kept hitting her head on the top bunk!

We were able to sell the bunkbeds last Thurday night before we left for the weekend, and her new bed was delivered today!  It's quite big (a full), and a little too high up for Jonathan to just jump on it.  Of course, he's already tried to climb up by standing on the drawer knobs!
