I needed to make a note to self here, as this blog aids in my recordkeeping!
Tonight I was brushing Emma's teeth, and when she spit out there was something unusual in the sink. If she had just eaten chocolate I wouldn't have been worried, but I was sure it was blood. Oh no! I had her open her mouth and looked inside with a flashlight.
Well sure enough, she's cut three out of her four final molars! One of them was just a little sore. I was very surprised to see them because Ed and I haven't noticed any teething signs lately. I had been meaning to feel her gums but just hadn't done it yet.
I told her that when all four of those chompers grow in we'll go see the dentist again! She did not like that at all. She was concerned about the dentist, nooooo dentist... so I told her we won't worry about the dentist right now :) I hope she changes her mind in a couple of months!! They will clean her teeth next time.

Preemie Patch
A little while after Emma was born, I remembered that Cabbage Patch Kids used to make Preemie dolls. I thought that maybe Emma would like to have one when she was older. It could even wear her preemie clothes! I had mentioned this to Grammy, and she got right on the horn and found one in good shape! It's a 1984 model. However, it's still small, considering :)
Here's what they say: "Preemies are perfectly formed Cabbage Patch Kids that were born early due to an unexpected frost in the Cabbage Patch." Love it!
The little doll's name is Andree Gloria, and she was born on October 1st. My sister Steph and my Cabbage Patch Kid (Kimberly Lynn - which I still have) were also both born on October 1st! Funny.
I told Emma I wanted to get pictures of her and her doll. So she posed her on the stairs next to her! Gee, don't get close or anything! (Cheeeeese!)

She rock-a-byes the baby, and even shares her own favorite blanket with her!

Baby Shayne
Today we got to meet little one month old Shayne! She is adorable, just like her outfit says! We had a very nice visit with Shayne and Tammy.
Emma was sort of interested in the baby, but to be safe I brought toys and coloring to entertain her. Here she holds Shayne's hand. I'm sure Shayne was intrigued by this big girl!

She was pretty interested in the chair though. She turned on the vibrations and music! It looks like Shayne is thinking "What is she doing?!"

Piglet pillow
Tonight at Costco we just happened to come across a cute pillow/blanket set! Emma doesn't have a little pillow yet so we thought this would be perfect for her. Plus, she can travel with it!

Snuggling with Piglet :)
Farm visit
This weekend we went out to visit Papa John at his farm. Emma's three cousins (cuz) were also there! We went for a walk to see the cows and nature. (We all had our boots on!) Emma really wanted to go pet the cows. As she got closer and closer, the cows stood up and backed away from her!

Three little monkeys climbing on a tree!

Going for a hayride! Watching the cows eat their lunch. (All those specks are just hay particles flying around!)
.
Climbing the hay pyramid. Emma did fall into a couple of gaps during her climb, but she kept on until the top!

.
Emma really wants to try skateboarding, skiing and snowboarding (thanks to the Olympics). She says you have to wear a helmet and shoes! It's funny. When we drive by the skateboard park she says "Me?? Me??" I've told her we just don't have a skateboard for her! The boys did though....
.
So Emma got to try out sitting on a skateboard at least. That even isn't as easy as it looks!!

Vet visit
Today we took Zoe to the vet for her annual exam. I had been preparing Emma for the visit so she'd know what to expect. This morning she said "Puppy shot?" and I told her yes, Zoe would get a shot to keep her healthy, like we do! She asked "I help?" I said we'd have to see what the vet thought about that one!! In the end she just watched while Zoe got her shot :)
Zoe is very nervous when we're at the vet. She likes to hide under the bench when the doctor comes in!

Later, when the nurse took Zoe in the back, Emma and I snuck out front to the dog scale to see where Emma weighed in at -- 26.7!

Emma had fun. They now have kid toys in the waiting room even!

.
All said and done, Zoe is very happy to be home :)

Zoo Thursday
Today was a great day and we went to the zoo with Brett and his mommy. While I didn't get pictures of any of the exhibits today, I kept seeing these cute little mammals climbing on benches all over!

Not quite as tall as a sun bear yet...

Biiiig bongo!

Brett put his sunglasses on the statue, then Emma wanted to try her pair on the cub too!

Go Team USA!
Emma got Sumi, one of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic mascots, for her birthday.
I just had to get a picture of her posing with him now that the fun has begun!

Sporty spice
Today we went to the PNW Sportsmen's Show. We thought Emma would get a kick out of all the boats, dogs, trout pond, etc.!
These dogs jumped up to kiss Emma as soon as they saw her!

She got to take aim in the Go Army tent!

Daddy helped Emma fish in the kids' trout pond. She took off once they caught a fish!

Wheel of fortune! Actually it's just the Petco wheel to get a treat for Zoe :)

Dough play
Yesterday we got a fun little Play-Doh kit. I had actually held off on getting some, because it says ages 3+. However, each week at the bible study we go to she plays with it, and loves it! In fact, this week it was caked all over her clothes, so I thought it was fine to get some for home!

Pretty colors!! I have to just let it go that the colors are going to get mixed together :)
