Rowr! At preschool today, the kids got to trick-or-treat in the high school. Emma thought it was so fun to parade through the big kids school like that!

Pumpkins and rain
Later in the afternoon we went to a nearby pumpkin patch. It was raining, but that's not going to stop us! The first thing Emma wanted to do was ride the ponies. She rode each one - Buster (brown) and Elmo (black and white).

While she was riding the first pony, the giant bounce pillow behind us popped. There was a HUGE popping sound and the five or six kids who had been jumping were now on their backs or bottoms on the ground. The pillow split right down the middle. We were so glad Emma hadn't chosen to do that first! Hopefully they'll have a new one for next year. Everyone seemed to be a little sore, but okay.

The big slide was closed, but we went into the hay maze and rode the tractor hay ride! (When she walked across these boards, it reminded me of Kevin Bacon dancing alone in the warehouse in Footloose!)

I really like both of these pictures of the three of us, except either Ed or I have our eyes closed in one or the other! Oh well :)

Of course we came home with a couple of big pumpkins too!

Disney ice show
My friend got us tickets to the Disney on Ice show (thank you Teresa!). The tickets were in her office's suite at the Rose Garden. We brought Dacia and we got there plenty early to get a good seat and have time to look around.
The girls literally ran down the hall to go look at souvenirs! Dacia chose a flashing crown, and surprisingly, Emma almost got one too. Then, she saw the sword! So we had fun playing sword fighting while we waited.

We had an excellent view of the show. It covered three Disney movies: (1) The Princess and the Frog, (2) Cinderella and (3) Tangled. Even if you weren't a fan of the different movies, the ice skating was really well done. There were lifts and spins and jumps, and during Tangled they even swung in the air from long yellow sheets (which simulated Rapunzel's hair)! It was a great show!

Tigers!
Today Emma and I headed to my old office for their kids costume party. Emma wanted to be a tiger this year! I sewed orange stripes on a regular black shirt and pants so she would be comfortable. No hood, zipper, etc. I also thought it would be cheaper than buying a costume but in the long run, not all that much after the ears, nose, etc.!

Then she really wanted to go to the high school football game tonight, even though she was quite tired and had a busy day (dentist in the morning as well!). So we went with the intention to leave around 9:00. We also got to sit in the main bleacher section for the first time because it wasn't as crowded as before, and Emma has always wanted to sit there!

The cheerleaders do a push-up for every point scored. I bet they were getting tired! We left in the 4th quarter but the final score was: 48-14!

Lego Creation Nation
Today we went to the mall for a special nation-wide Lego event. They call it Creation Nation. They wants kids to come and build their own design on a 6x6 platform, and then they add it to a large map of the United States. It will be fun to see what it looks like when the country is full!
Emma built a market. When they asked her where she wanted it to be placed, she said Seattle! (The state of Oregon was pretty much full!)
To the right of her market (red with a green roof) is a Space Needle that one of the boys near us built.

Swimming
Emma started swim lessons again this week, and she has the same teacher she did in the spring. She's glad to be able to stand in the shallow end on flat feet! She also got to swim with Nemo today (floating with her)!

A wedding weekend
This weekend we headed up towards Mt. Rainier in Washington for my cousin Jessica's wedding. Wouldn't you know, the fall weather came just a couple of days before the big event! There was lots of rain and we went through many outfit changes, but the rain did not damper anybody's fun! It was a great wedding and a fun weekend with everyone.
Emma was excited, and a little nervous, that she got her own candle to hold:
Daddy and Emma tore it up on the dance floor - a good way to keep warm!
We got to stay at the resort where the wedding was held, in the cutest little cabin! Emma slept up in the alcove there. The wood stove was well used - we needed it to dry our things and stay warm! She brought her DVD player since there was no tv there, and she hid under her blanket to watch it the first night :)
Emma and her boys peeking out the alcove window!
Before we all went back to our respective states, I wanted to get a picture of Emma with Ruthie (2 1/2) and Lainie (11 months)! The girls will change a lot before we get together next!
As we headed home, we stopped at a nearby mountaineering stop for Mt. Rainier climbers.
Finally, on our last stop going home we stopped to get Zoe at Papa John's farm. First, he wanted Emma's help in driving some of his cows across the road, back to his pastures. Emma buckled up and they went to get the cows to follow them!
Then Emma made sure they got a treat. Daddy got to play too!

Go Tigers!
Tonight we went to another high school football game. Emma really wanted to go, in large part to get a Tigers t-shirt! It was homecoming, and I knew it was going to be a z-o-o. It sure was!
No. 5 Tigard was playing No. 7 Tualatin (previously undefeated). The final score was 41-0 - Tigard!! It was just an awesome game to watch.
Emma in her Tigard Tigers shirt:
Another touchdown!
