Doctor day

Another doctor visit today! Here are Emma's stats:

Weight: 11 pounds, 13 ounces (She has officially increased her birth weight by five times!)

Height: 23.5 inches

Head circumference: 40 cm/15.7 inches (She was born at 26 cm/10.2 inches!)

She also had to have a polio booster, so here's the tired darling when we got home:

Last Wednesday when Emma was exactly five months old, we had some portraits taken of her. Here are thumbnails of some of the shots!

Emma Ross in Little Angel!! Okay, I realize that makes no sense at all, but I had to sort of tie in an Oscar theme!

Emma is wearing her Little Angel pajamas tonight. The beautiful handmade angel ornament was a gift from a friend (made by her mother in Poland!), and I thought it would be cute to take a picture of it while she was wearing those jammies.

Tickle me... Emma?!

Here is Emma playing with Tickle Me Elmo last night! She really likes him. I was afraid that he would scare her when he goes into his fast shaking mode, but she loves that!

Five months old!

Wow, Emma is five months old today! Can you believe it? It's true, they do grow up so fast. She is such a big girl now!


What? Are you talking about me again mom?!


Gosh, I could just slide on down and fall asleep right here in this chair...

L.O.L.!

Emma had some big smiles today! Actually, she laughed out loud twice in response to my interactions with her today. She's been squealing and giggling, but this was a definite laugh to something that she thought was pretty funny! Soon she'll be doing it more, and I'll be able to get a video of it.

Spoiled Zoe got to go to the ocean this weekend! She had a great time. I had to give her a bath when she got home - salty sea dog! Now she gets to spend a couple of weeks vacation up in the country with Grammy and Papa!

Our pastor was out sick today, so James, the children's pastor, did the honors with Emma! Emma was very entranced by the lights shining on the stage. I can attest to that - those lights were very bright!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yeah, it's my first Valentine's Day!! How many have you all celebrated?!




To be or not to be, that is the question... Well, will you bee my Valentine?!


Here is Emma playing with her new sock rattles that Daddy snuck in and left in her room before he went to work. She seems to really like them! Zoe was very curious, which didn't work out too well...

Monday morning pics

Here's Emma playing on her aquarium mat this morning! She tends to lean to one side when she's on her tummy (partially to suck on her hand!), and so I wonder how long it will be before she happens to roll onto her side unexpectedly!


Zoe has to check things out of course!


She likes to lay back and kick. I wonder if she'll be good at the backstroke?!


She reaches up and swats the ball above her stomach there! I think she's practicing her volleyball serve nice and early :)

Happy Saturday!

Emma wasn't feeling 100% herself today - the aftermath of yesterday's shots caught up with her! She had a bit of a fever but is doing much better. She still is happy when she wakes up, so here is a quick video of that from this afternoon!

Big girls don't cry (a lot)!

Tell me, does this look like a baby who just had four shots in her legs?!



So Emma had four shots today, two in each leg. She does really well I think. Of course it hurt at first, but she is relatively easy to calm down afterwards!

Oh yes, and her weight today was.... 11 pounds, 2 ounces!!

Daddy's Little Princess

Emma is proudly daddy's little princess today! Actually, it's nothing new... She has most definitely been daddy's little girl since the minute she was born!




She just lights up when her daddy comes home to see her!

Playtime videos

We set up the camera to just keep filming while we played with Emma. I found that when I would try to hold the camera with one hand and show her a stuffed animal with the other, Emma would be so focused on the camera that she would hardly play with me! So this way we kind of tricked her - out of sight, out of mind!

Jesus loves ewe! This is Emma's lamb that plays "Jesus Loves Me" - and she just loves it! She even squeals a little bit. He is so soft!

Here is Emma with Juniper Giraffe. Juniper's foot is a chirpy bird!

Zoe very much wants to be in the middle of all the excitement! She wants her little sister to throw the squeaky dinosaur, but Emma hasn't quite mastered that trick yet!

Oh yeah, do you want to hear something weird? For many nights lately I have had a dream that Emma is in our bed. I would never bring her to bed because it's too dangerous! But these dreams are so vivid. The night before last I dreamt that both Emma and Zoe were under the covers. Ed later told me that I was making noise in my sleep. I remember getting up, standing by the bed and carefully searching the covers for my two little girls. Alas, neither was there! I even turned a light on to make sure Zoe was in her own bed, which she was. Ah, it's so strange. I don't know what I changed in my diet to have odd dreams!!

Super Tuesday!

Here is Emma in a new sweater that her Nana made her! She looks very pretty and dainty, don't you think?!

Happy Groundhog Day!

Looks like we have six more weeks of winter to look forward to! That's pretty obvious - it's still snowing...!

Go Red!

Did you know today is "National Wear Red Day"? The American Heart Association is kicking off the Go Red movement today to raise awareness and support for women and heart disease. When Emma heard this, she wanted to wear her red checkered pants!



We also had a doctor's appointment today. Emma's weight is 10 pounds, 12 ounces! Her height is 21 - 1/4 inches!
