Emma loves to chew on and hold the little linking rings. She usually holds it with both hands like a steering wheel (can you say 10 and 2?!)! Come to think of it she does have her own set of keys... I think I'm getting ahead of myself here!

Cousin Zach

Today Emma got to meet her 14 year old cousin Zach! He made her laugh with his animal sounds! He does a great chicken impression :)

Love Bug!

Emma had a doctor's appointment on Friday. The doctor said it looks like she's using her calories to grow in length right now over weight!

Weight: 13 pounds, 3 ounces

Height: 25 1/2 inches (though I feel the doctor's office is not totally accurate and measures a bit too long on the height!)

This little outfit says "Love Bug" on it and has little ladybugs everywhere. So cute!

I always have to fight to keep Zoe off of Emma's blankets. That's because she won't stop kissing and licking Emma! If Zoe just lays down like this, then I have no problem with her sharing the blankie!

Rainy day

So, it's a pretty yucky rainy day outside. We are just hanging out and keeping cozy inside!

Just a little video of Emma's squealing on Sunday. I set the camera up on the tripod and was not in her line of sight. She seems to stare at the camera at first - like she knows she's being filmed!





By the way, she did not learn to flash her belly button from mama!

Happy Easter Sunday!

Emma is wearing her fancy spring dress today! It's incredibly cold to be wearing this, but I absolutely had to put it on her!

It even has a matching hat, which is slightly too big for her if you're not careful with the placement! (She reminded me a bit of Strawberry Shortcake!!)

A mini bunny basket for mini me. Don't worry, mommy and daddy took care of the candy because Emma is too young to eat it :)

Here's Emma in her pajamas this morning. I couldn't resist attaching a previous picture of her from December 17th in the same pajamas. It really blows me away how much she has grown!

Six months old today!!

Here's Emma celebrating her six month birthday today! That's right - six months. No, we can't believe it either!


So mom, what's this curly pink stuff for anyway? Oh yeah, it's yummy!!! Lots of fiber I'm sure.


Here is a little snapshot of how big Emma has grown in the last 6 months. On the left are her preemie diaper and onesie, compared to what she's wearing now!

It was kind of warm in Emma's room today, so Emma just wore her dress for play time. Finally it cooled down!! That sun is toasty!

Weight update

We had a visit today from the community health nurse. I love having her come by because I can bounce any questions I have off of her and not feel rushed (unlike the doctor's office!). So, here are Emma's latest stats (I still don't know which side she bats/throws though...)

Weight: 12 pounds, 15 ounces

Height: 24 1/2 inches (Hey, she's over 1/3rd of the way to mama!)

Head circumference: 40.5 cm (Almost 16 inches!)

Based on her corrected age (had she been born December 6th), that puts her in the 50th percentile for weight and head size, and the 75th percentile for length!

This lil' leprechaun didn't want to get her cheeks pinched today(!), so she put on her cute green cow outfit!


Yep, mom was right, there is a cow on my belly!

Caught on camera!

So I just checked in on Emma during a nap. My first reaction was "Hmm, that is the complete opposite direction of how I laid her down to bed." She is such a wiggle worm! I call her Miss Wigglebottom.



Then I peeled back the blanket that she was holding with her right hand, and I see that she is actually sucking on her thumb! Lately she has been putting practically her whole hand in her mouth, but now we'll see if she becomes a regular thumb-sucker!

Sunday best

Here are Emma and Brett (and moms!) at church this morning. I wanted to try to show his size compared to her - he is 2 pounds bigger than she is and just 2 1/2 months old! Monique and I are also standing in front an Oregon Ducks poster since Brett will likely be a football star there in 18 years :)


The Captain and the Lady! Brett is all dressed up in a cute sailor outfit! They are both looking over at Brett's dad Brad who is trying to make them laugh and smile for the camera!
