Minute to Win It

Last night we were watching Minute to Win It, with Aron Ralston (the mountain climber who lost his arm after getting trapped under a boulder). Anyway, Emma seemed interested in the games he was playing, so Daddy headed to the pantry and got some dry pasta out for Emma to play a game called "Noodling Around."

/

At first we tried mini wheels as they have many holes in them, but then we switched to penne so it might stay on the noodle for longer. She got as many as three on there at one time, but I can't say that she kept her hands behind her back the whole time...! We also used spaghetti and linguine as the main stick.

Saturday snow

Yesterday the temperatures were still freezing, and in some places the snow remained from Thursday. Emma got to play with some more snow at Papa John's farm! It was too cold to be outside for very long, but she got to see some of the cows and make a snowball :)

A touch of snow

Last night around 8:30 it started to snow. Light and fluffy snowflakes. We went outside in pajamas to enjoy it for a few minutes!

This morning we had 1 to 2 inches when we woke up. It was so pretty! Emma was excited to use her snow shovel.

It didn't take long for the sun to come out and start melting our beautiful snow though! We hurried to make a snowchild. Emma used colored water to make eyes and a smile. It started with two eyes, but then she made three eyes and the blue kind of all ran together!

Two snowgirls!

Above par day

Today we went mini golfing. It was chilly outside, but the skies were clear (at first!). Daddy also took his lunch break to come join us for a round of 18 holes!

The skies started getting a little more gray as we played on...

Papa wanted to take Emma for a ride in the go karts! She LOVED it. I think she had a perma-grin on her face for five minutes!
.
Finally, we stopped at the local park to burn off a little energy!

Minnie and Winnie

Tonight Emma had fun dressing up as Minnie Mouse and Winnie! Grammy got this Winnie the Pooh costume for Emma when she was still in the NICU. It finally fits her! She loves wearing it - I imagine it must be super snuggly!

I really love this one!

PapaGrammyCuz will be seeing Minnie and Winnie next month, and so they will take these pictures and try to get the characters to autograph them for Emma!

Now this one is totally "cheesy," but Emma has been excited about cheeseballs since she saw Alvin and the Chipmunks dining on them! My aunt made a party mix at Christmas, and Emma's favorite ingredient was the cheeseballs. I had to get a picture of this GIANT cheeseball barrel to show her! And as most things in our house go, it soon became a drum...

Lots of babies! I see a big bear!

Hmm, wonder where we got that idea?!

.

Weekend fun

Yesterday we went to IKEA to get Emma an easel (oh and meatballs of course!). Pictures of that to come later - she is having lots of fun drawing things for us to guess!

Emma and Daddy tried out the office section.

This was towards the end of the store, and she really was getting pretty sleepy!

Last night we spotted an awesome sunset from a parking lot!

This morning the girls took advantage of a sunbreak (before it rained!) to race scooter/skateboard!

Cruising down the road...

Funny Valentine

In 2009 we started a family tradition of going to Dairy Queen on Valentine's Day. Who doesn't love eating frozen ice cream in February?!

We had a great time tonight and were super silly! I even laughed until I cried. Emma is very much into knock knock jokes these days (or rather, the same knock knock joke over and over...!). So we tried to think of new and funny replies to "Knock Knock" instead of just "spaghetti."

Emma's treat was a Dilly Bar! She said it was too cold to eat at first, so we asked her to pretend she was eating it for the picture. Then she got back into eating it!

.
Happy Heart Day everybody!

Sickie

Here's how to sum up our weekend in few words and a picture.

Flu-y Friday.
Solitary Saturday.
Snotty Sunday.

I am NOT going to smile for the picture!

Looking forward to Much Improved Monday!!

We found Nemo!

He's at my dentist's office - of all places! Emma likes to come and look at their fish tank, which has Nemo, Nemo's Dad, and Dory swimming around.

.
It almost makes me want to get an aquarium!

Toothy Tuesday

Emma had a dentist check-up and cleaning today. She was so relaxed, kicked back in the chair watching a cartoon on the ceiling! The cool sunglasses helped!
.
All clean and shiny! She chose birthday cake paste to clean her teeth. I just don't know if that would taste good or not. I should have tried some!
.
At the store later, she wanted to play with the bigger than life football at the Super Bowl display. Is that weird?
.
A sign that her arm is much better, she wanted to dig in the garden on this nice afternoon. She gets her splint off tomorrow!
