Hot pink uniform please!

Who says you can't play basketball in a pink ruffled dress?!

Surprise! What about baseball mom?! Well, it could be hard to run the bases... :)

Tastes like chicken

Emma has been drawn to one of Zoe's kerchiefs lately in the dog toy box. Zoe never wears kerchiefs, she'd rather chew them up! Nonetheless, after a few minutes Zoe had to snatch it back from Emma just to prove some doggy point :)

Emma had her first meat tonight - chicken! I tried it and it tasted kind of gross. However, she seemed to like it just fine! I didn't realize she had some on her forehead until looking at this picture...

She still didn't nap very well today, and I'm just guessing it has something to do with her teeth. Those top teeth have got to be close to coming in! She went to bed at 7:30 tonight, so at least she lasted an hour longer than yesterday evening!

Happy Birthday to Daddy!

Today is Ed's birthday! Emma and Zoe helped Daddy open a present this morning, then they each played with the wrapping paper and ribbon.

Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures today, and my window quickly lapsed. Emma went to bed at 6:30 tonight! I even gave her a bath at 5:30 as we could see what direction she was headed. She's one sleepy sheepie!

So, happy birthday to Ed, and (an early) good night to all!

Monday fun

Emma is so tricky, she can hold three spoons at the same time! Wow - imagine how impressed we were! She also looks like a pirate baby here. "YAR, gimme some food!"

Here's our little Apple Dumplin! Once again, she is not about to sit still for a picture in her chair anymore :)

Well, it seems that it's official - we have a new crawler on our hands! Zoe is the biggest incentive of all to Emma. She just loves her puppy so much! Poor Zoe, she kept getting up to move just to get away from baby sister in these videos! Emma is only going to get faster... Currently she moves her legs three or four times, then pauses for a rest!

Zoe says catch me if you can!

Fair and peaches!

We went to the local county fair today! It didn't take us very long to see everything there, but maybe next year it will be more fun for Emma as she'll understand things better! I only took a few pictures, so here she is looking at an alpaca and little goats!!

I think Emma is trying to figure out how to get to that ice cream cone on her shirt...! No ice cream for you yet Emma!

Emma had peaches for the first time tonight! She liked them, naturally!

Here's some wild after bath hair!

Good night!

First snippets of crawling!

Emma is in the first stages of really crawling! There's a little snippet of it in this video. She's been so close for a while now, but I think she's just unsure about how to move herself forward all the way. Sometimes she resorts to a leap frog style, where she brings both of her knees/legs forward in one big hop! It helped having Zoe right there with a cool toy that Emma wanted...

When she is hesitant she falls back to her safe zone - er, her rear end. Tonight she had more energy than the rest of this week when she had been asleep at the same time! When bedtime rolled around tonight, she was ready like that (snapping fingers). I don't blame her, after all of this hard work!

Here's Emma and Zoe playing tug-of-war. Wonder who wins?!

Here are some poses from earlier. Our girls just hanging out and playing!

She's one slamma jamma!!

Remember Emma's buddy Mel from the NICU? He's still playing along side of her!

Need a reason to get coffee today?

I just saw on the news that Dutch Bros. is donating all of its proceeds today to Relay for Life, which benefits the American Cancer Society.

So hurry, it's today only until 11:00 p.m.!

Unfortunately there are no Dutch Bros. for those around the Seattle area :(

Here's Emma doing her part!

Emma and Zoe share an odd interest. They both will watch you intently if you're drinking out of a cup or plastic bottle. They WANT it from you! So, Zoe was not sure why baby sister got this cup to chew on, and she kept trying to take it from her. Finally she got the cup! She knew she wasn't supposed to do that because then she ran behind the chair to rip the paper cup up. These two crack me up!

Fun at the farm!

We visited the farm this morning. Papa John let Emma ride on his tractor!

Hey, what am I doing all the way up here?!

Cousin Zach helps Emma teethe on a frozen filet mignon!

Introducing Emma-xercise

Be sure to start by picking those buns up off the floor!

Ease into the splits...

Stop to examine your puppy's toys...

Have your puppy show you how to walk on all fours!

Everbody needs a bathroom break from time to time! Emma waits patiently for her turn.

Finally, hit the sack and do it all again tomorrow!

Ten months old!

Emma is ten months old today! I am beginning to have a tough time getting her to sit still long enough to snap her picture in the chair! She is apparently planning her escape route with Zoe!

Picture? I'd rather eat my feet, thank you.

Today we went to a barbecue with some of our "newly married group" friends from church. It's not that any of us are "newly" married anymore, but we all met in that so-titled group in 2004! This year we're all celebrating our 5th wedding anniversaries! It was really nice to hang out, chat and eat some delicious food! There are four kids amongst those that were there today. How could we not get a picture of them all squished together?!
(Brett (almost 7 mos.), Dacia (3 1/2), Jaden (almost 2), Emma (10 mos.)

... and then Emma was the first kid to tire of the pictures! It was nap time.

This is a dress that my cousin Jessica brought back from Thailand earlier this year. The burlap elephant is very cute!!

We sure had a busy day (including all these outfit changes!). We ended it with trying pears for the first time and a bath! The thumping noise you hear in the video is Emma kicking her feet on her highchair!

Saturday

Today we headed East of Mt. Hood for a family picnic on Ed's side of the family. His Aunt Marie was in town from Texas, and here she is with Emma and Ed! (Or "Eddie" as his whole family calls him!!)

With Papa John:

We stopped for this picture of Mt. Hood looking gorgeous!

I highly recommend.

Welcome to my new segment that I'll call "I highly recommend!" If you're like us, then you can't leave the Hood 'hood without stopping at Dairy Queen. Am I right? So, I have been wanting to try their new "Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookie Blizzard," and today I had my chance.

Hey, I was a Girl Scout! Hey, I love cookies! So... here's a picture of the yummy treat. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO good! Even though the ice cream is cold, the cookie bits were not, so they weren't too hard. Plus, the bits of cookies were very good size! I highly recommend you try it :) (It's quite similar to mint chocolate chip ice cream, but BETTER!)

Cheeeeeeese!

I think it's fair to say that by now, Emma is very used to the camera!

She was just playing around here!

Laugh with the giraffe

Time for some fun with Juniper Giraffe! He has so many things to entertain Emma (and Zoe). First, ribbon tags - ooooh!

Chewy horn, squishy heart... fun!

I star, you star, we all star!

HEY EVERYBODY! It's All-Star Tuesday!

Emma is very excited about her first baseball all-star game tonight! She's teaching Zoe how to hold the bat even:

She'll be cheering on Ichiro and the rest of the American League! (The picture on the right is Emma on March 31st in this outfit! The hat fit her much better then...)

Grr, let's go get 'em!
