2/5/10 thank you

Opening the package! It was hard to assist and film at the same time, but Emma did fine getting everything out!

"Paprise" and "oppah" are "surprise" and "open" :)

Feeding Zoe her dingo cane. Wow, even more stuff is in the box!

We couldn't figure out how to get the card playing so I had to stop the camera!

Playing the card!

She LOVES the sour gummy hearts! I was filming her eat the first one because I thought she might have a funny reaction, but no! Ed and I have eaten a couple :)

.

She put the whole candy bracelet in her mouth and then I didn't see it again, but thankfully today (Sunday) I found the string in the other room with the yellow heart piece attached. I guess she didn't think that part was candy?! We're taking it slow on the rest. I think we give her way too much sugar!! THANK YOU GUYS!!

Plea to Papa

10/13/09: Emma wants Papa to fix her teddy bear's broken paw! (4 parts. It took me a while to get her to say Papa again!)

Dancing cousins

Here are a couple of videos of Bryan and Brooke dancing with Emma! Notice how when Brooke leaves her mark, Emma directs her back to the correct side of the slide! Brooke taught the "up high, down low dance," and Bryan taught Emma how to "swim!"

And a quick outtake for fun!

Thanks for playing with us today!!

Thank you beary much!

4/18/09: Thank you for the bear postcard today!! Emma just loved it when I brought it to after her nap. I thought it might keep her occupied while I changed her diaper :)

V-Day card

We couldn't wait to open the card after we got the mail this afternoon. I recorded her reaction for a little over five minutes, and I had to break it down into four parts (size constraints on the blog). Every second is continual in parts 1 through 4!

She gets frustrated when she can't play the card :) She was showing daddy when he got home tonight!

Thank you!

Special mail delivery on February 2nd! Thank you Grammy and Papa, and "the one who loves Zoe a lot"!

Zoe can hardly wait for Daddy to open the package!

Let me just stick my nose in there and pull one out... YUMMMMM!!

Zoe, can you help me open my package?

A cup with straw? I love it!

Now for some videos of Emma being silly and enjoying her cup!

Stretch 1, 2, 3...

Emma was having fun bending over and playing peek-a-boo tonight! She does this often but I've never been quick enough to catch a photo! Tonight she was doing it for so long I thought all the blood would rush to her head! Soon she'll be doing somersaults.

.
Here comes Zoe with some kisses!

Peek-a-boo, I see you!

.
Uh-oh baby fall down!

.
Where does Emma get it from? Me of course! Here I am at 20 months old. Yes, a big 20 months old. (That's my cousin Amy on the right!)

PJs and boots

Just a quick picture from this morning...

Rain or shine, pajamas or clothes, Emma loves to play in her boots! I think she misses the snow!

Super Sunday

Emma started her Sunday morning with Daddy snuggles!

This afternoon we helped Brett celebrate his first birthday - bear style! Here he is dressed up for the occasion. Can you tell there's a boy in there?!

I think in this picture Brett is saying "No mom, don't cut the bear cake!!"

Too.... much.... cake....

Brett shared his balloon with Emma!

Beep beep!

Emma got a princess ride along toy today from Nana and Grumpy (hey don't look at us, we didn't name him that!!)! She really loves this thing. I'll try to get better pictures of her on it tomorrow, but she was moving around pretty quick today.

The horn beeps (which she's very good at), and she can even store toys in the seat. I don't know how safe it is, but she can play the piano while driving! Talk about a crazy driver!

Little helpers

Oh the girls are SO helpful to me!! Here I was trying to wrap a few more gifts today. Zoe had to come over and rip up the cardboard tubes, while Emma played with all the rolls of paper! They both walked all over the paper as I was trying to wrap. I did start during Emma's nap, but I couldn't finish in time. Phew!

I just like the looks of our family boot lineup by the front door!

We wish you a Merry Christmas!

We hope everyone had a wonderful day today! Ours was very nice and relaxing at home. Emma woke up and came downstairs to this Little People garage. Ed thought it would be nice for her to play with something right away and not have to unwrap it. What a great idea! She was instantly drawn to it.

Then she opened her stocking and peeked at the snow.

Look Mommy, I got a glitter ball! Look Daddy, I can brush my teeth!

Some blocks to build (and knock over)!

A musical doll from Great Grandma!

Don't worry Mommy, I'll help with the garbage!

Emma was definitely more interested in the tissue paper and ribbon than unwrapping the actual gifts! Between her and Zoe ripping up tissue paper, there were a lot of shreds around. Here's a little snippet showing Emma's love of embellishments!

Finally she got the package open to find the Little People school bus!

Merry Christmas sweet girl!

'Twas the night before Christmas

One more day until Christmas! When I put Emma to bed tonight, I told her that when she wakes up it will be Christmas! Her eyes got real big and she smiled. I think she was going by the inflection in my voice, but it still was a very cute reaction!

Here she is playing with her Little People nativity set. Notice how it's nice and neat - that's not normally how it looks. I had set everyone up in their proper place. The angel sits atop the stable, and when you press down it plays "Away In a Manger." It's a great set! Right now, however, Emma has the donkey perched atop the stable....!

Snow elf

The girls had more fun in the snow today! Today Emma is more elfish than bunny :)

She's bracing herself for Zoe, who is running towards her...

Pull up a seat! (Brr!)

I measured yesterday when it stopped snowing. We have 12 inches from Saturday morning through Monday afternoon! There's 5-6 inches from Saturday, 1/2 inch of ice from early Sunday, then another 5-6 inches of snow from Sunday through Monday. Cool!

Little snow bunny

Happy first day of winter! It sure looks like a winter wonderland around here! It's gorgeous.

So last night we had freezing rain come down, and it left a nice thick sheet of ice over all of the snow! It's pretty hard to walk on at first - the ice breaks underneath you, and you have to kick the ice away to clear a path (if you can manage to not fall!). I re-shoveled a path for Zoe this morning so she could make it to the grass (which I also had to clear!). Here she is first thing this morning walking "on" the backyard, no grass in sight. It was weird to think the ground was about five inches underneath her!

Frozen roses and palms:

There is a pomegranate bush in our backyard. They never survive until maturity in December! There usually is a November frost that freezes and cracks them, and they are goners (we didn't plant the bush!). There's actually a few fruits still hanging on! I like the ice on each little branch. Zoe bit off a branch and managed to get herself a big iceicle.

Yesterday we got Emma a pair of red rubber boots. They are two sizes too big (obviously they are running low on these right now!), but we just wanted something to keep her feet dry for five minutes, and she can wear them next fall as they'll be the perfect size for puddle splashing. She loves stomping around the house in them (and marching!), and here she is fiddling with them this morning. I think she likes the straps best of all, because they are like little purses to carry around!
.

Now here's our lil' bunny playing outside today. Ed got rid of the ice in one area and broke up the snow for Emma to walk in. Emma had a blast, and she giggled and clapped her hands. When she fell down (in the video) she didn't seem to mind the cold stuff! Then it started to rain again, but we made it back inside before it started to really come down (and it has since turned to snow!).

Hey Zoe, you're right. Snow IS fun!!

Snowy Saturday

Hmm, I seem to have misplaced my pants...

Oh, are those my pants back there?!
.
Ah, suddenly it's a bit warmer in here!!

I gave Emma a mini candy cane tonight. She enjoyed it, but she did not like having sticky hands (I kept the wrapper off)!! I gave it to her right before her bath, as I knew she'd be pretty sticky! Such agility this little one has.

I just love looking out the window and seeing all this snow. (Forgive the reflection of the lights, oops!) It has not stopped snowing all day or night. It was also windy so the snow was blowing, and I didn't want Emma to get snow in her face so she didn't "play" in it today. We'll try to get her out in it again tomorrow, if it's not snowing so hard!
